Spatial Patterns in Actual Evapotranspiration Climatologies for Europe

چکیده

Spatial patterns in long-term average evapotranspiration (ET) represent a unique source of information for evaluating the spatial pattern performance distributed hydrological models on river basin to continental scale. This kind model evaluation is getting increased attention, acknowledging shortcomings traditional aggregated or timeseries-based evaluations. A variety satellite remote sensing (RS)-based ET estimates exist, covering range methods and resolutions. There is, therefore, need evaluate these estimates, not only terms temporal similarity, but also patterns. The current study evaluates four RS-ET at moderate resolution with respect comparison two alternative continental-scale gridded (water-balance Budyko). To increase comparability, an empirical correction factor between clear sky all-weather ET, based eddy covariance data, derived, which could be suitable simple corrections estimates. Three (MODIS16, TSEB PT-JPL) Budyko method generally display similar both across European domain (mean SPAEF = 0.41, 0.25–0.61) within basins 0.19–0.38), although similarity varies significantly basins. In contrast, WB-ET PML_V2 produced very different ranging over combinations water, energy, vegetation land surface temperature constraints suggests that robust can achieved by combining several methods.

Variability in riparian zone potential and actual evapotranspiration

Micrometeorological and hydrological measurements were made over one growing season using automatic weather stations and weighing lysimeters at several locations within a multiple land-use agricultural catchment in Southern Ontario. This paper compares modelled potential evapotranspiration (PET) and measured actual evapotranspi-5 ration (AET) values obtained from the soil weighing lysimeters, a...

Estimating Riparian and Agricultural Actual Evapotranspiration by Reference Evapotranspiration and MODIS Enhanced Vegetation Index

Dryland river basins frequently support both irrigated agriculture and riparian vegetation and remote sensing methods are needed to monitor water use by both crops and natural vegetation in irrigation districts. We developed an algorithm for estimating actual evapotranspiration (ETa) based on the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) sensor on...

Estimation of Actual Evapotranspiration using Remote Sensing data

Estimation of actual evapotranspiration (AET) and its spatial distribution are important to understanding of catchment hydrology. The AET is driven by net energy available to evaporate water from soil and vegetation surfaces, and to transpirate water from vegetation. However, estimating AET is difficult as the evapotranspiration process involves complex physical and biological processes. It is ...

Spatial Patterns of Poverty in Iran

Poverty can have spatial dimensions. While general figures might show the spatial pattern of poverty, there is a need for more detailed examination of this pattern. Relying on simple figures of spatial patterns and ranking regions based on them might be misleading. This paper tries to apply spatial analysis methodsm, namely spatial autoregressive models to find out the impacts of space on the h...

Spatial and Temporal Variation in Evapotranspiration

Evapotranspiration represents the combined loss of soil water from the earth’s surface to the atmosphere through evaporation of water from the soil or plant surfaces and transpiration via stomates of the plant. In agricultural production systems these two losses of water represent a major component of the water balance of the crop. If we examine evapotranspiration over time throughout a growing...
